This warm & inviting one-of-a-kind B&B is nestled in the historic Swedish Commune of Bishop Hill. Built in 1855 as the Colony Hospital, the Twinflower Inn has been lovingly restored. With four suites and two extra guest rooms it is the ultimate retreat for family gatherings.

Historic Bishop Hill was founded in 1846. Once known as Utopia on the Prairie, it retains its European ambiance. Bishop Hill now boasts art galleries, boutiques, antique shops, a bakery, several restaurants, and museums. It was recently named by Midwest Living Magazine as one of 100 Best Small Town Getaways. Festivals and special events abound in this National Historic Landmark village.

"If we keep a green bough in our hearts a singing bird will come."

*The Twinflower is Sweden’s National Flower. The Latin name Linnaea borealis honors Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778), father of binomial nomenclature and modern botany. He admired this plant so much that he holds the bell shaped flowers in his wedding portrait. Also, we are the parents of twin flowers!
